Illegal mining has become one of the activities with the greatest negative impact on Ecuador's ecosystems, with deforestation being one of its most critical effects, particularly in areas such as Ponce Enríquez. This research aims to analyze the influence of illegal mining on deforestation processes within the operations area of the Bella Aurora Company during the 2023-2025 period, to establish the basis for an environmental management plan that mitigates the ecological impact in the area. The methodology employed corresponds to a descriptive and qualitative study based on a comprehensive and organized review of articles regarding illegal mining and deforestation within the Ecuadorian context. The study was supported by the application of a structured survey conducted on a sample of thirty workers from the Bella Aurora Company. The results reveal a direct and considerable influence of illegal mining on the loss of forest cover within the operations area during the studied period. The data indicates that, despite surveillance in these zones, the severe degradation of soil and vegetation constitutes a direct threat to both ecosystem integrity and the company's sustainable operations. This is further complemented by the identification of risk factors associated with illegal mining in the area, such as the lack of state control, high mineral prices, and the weakness of institutions responsible for environmental oversight.
