Abstract

Leadership is an essential skill in the education of students in schools with a structured disciplinary organization and institutional values. This research aims to study the influence of military discipline on the leadership development of cadets in a military educational unit. It employs a non-experimental, descriptive design with a quantitative approach. The population consisted of high school students, from whom a sample of 28 cases was studied. A survey was conducted using a structured questionnaire with closed-ended questions, which allowed for the identification of perceptions regarding institutional values, discipline, responsibility, and leadership-related behaviors.

The results show that the majority of students identify with the institution's values and consider discipline important for effective teamwork. It is also observed that the students demonstrate high levels of compliance with rules, schedules, academic responsibilities, and respect for authority—principles internalized through military training. Students also value the institution's academic and disciplinary rigor as a means of preparing them for future challenges and developing habits of order and organization conducive to success in future academic and social situations. Therefore, it can be concluded that the results obtained demonstrate the influence of military discipline on the development of.

Leadership skills by fostering values education and institutional commitment, as well as the personal and social skills necessary for organization and teamwork. These results provide evidence of the influence of the military educational model on the students' holistic education and on the development of skills transferable to other educational, professional, and social contexts.
