Abstract

The following study analyzes the relationship between mental health and the functioning of the immune system from the perspective of psychoneuroimmunology. The objective was to evaluate how chronic stress and emotional states affect the biological response and vulnerability to diseases and infections in the teaching staff through the methodology that used a mixed approach with a sample of 75 teachers from COMIL 4 through a survey to measure certain variables, highlighting within the results that 39,4% of teachers experience fatigue related to their emotional state and 47,4% have a slow recovery from diseases, in the same way it was identified that 50% have a light or interrupted sleep and 42,1% have Difficulty disconnecting from their work. Mental health is an essential preventive tool for the regulation of biological rhythms, it acts as a shield for the body against pathogens and diseases.
